HCL Traveler 14.5.0 includes bug fixes for the Traveler server. The information below outlines the changes included in this release. For more information, please refer to the Traveler Product Documentation and the Recommended maintenance for HCL Traveler.
Traveler 14.5.0 can be used to install a new Traveler environment or update an existing Traveler environment running on Domino 12.0.x, Domino 14.0.x, or Domino 14.5.x without requiring a Domino upgrade. However, we strongly recommend running Domino at the latest supported version to ensure compatibility, performance, and security. If you plan to upgrade to Domino 14.5.0, note that Traveler 14.5.0 (or higher) is required.

What’s new in Traveler 14.5
- Database schema update
See Schema migration requirements for general rules when upgrading Traveler, and see Updating the enterprise database for more complete steps. If Traveler is using DB2 for IBM i for the Enterprise Database, follow the same normal schema upgrade but you will need to use theCHGMSGD
detailed in Troubleshooting the installation of HCL Traveler on IBM i when you start Traveler to avoid the ALTER TABLE SQL errors. - Token-based authentication for APNS
Authentication by Traveler to the APNS servers has changed from certificate-based authentication to token-based authentication. This removes the need to have or maintain the p12 certificate files for APNS which expire and therefore must be updated every year. Customers using Maas360 and SecurePIM clients should check with the app providers for support of Traveler 14.5 APNS push support. - Sync all mail headers
Traveler has always synced only specific mail headers for each mail to reduce bandwidth and device storage needs. However, other processes may have added additional headers to the Domino mail documents to then check those headers on the mail client. For example, desktop anti-virus scanning on Windows may be checking the headers in mails stored in Microsoft Outlook via the HTMO client. Traveler now supports the clients specifying a flag to indicate if they want just the specific mail headers or all mail headers for mails that are synchronized. - Expanded embedded links for iOS Calendar
When viewing calendar events on the iOS Calendar app, embedded links in the description will now be expanded to include the URL for the link in parentheses after the link text. This will allow users to view and open links that were previously lost due to syncing the description of the event as plaintext. - Improved Java Memory statistics
Additional statistics were added for Java Memory. See the system stats in System stat results. - Improved Exchange ActiveSync handling for the Apple iOS Native client
Apple devices syncing with iOS 16 and later can Sync and FolderSync in parallel. Improvements were made to handle this.
