SUTOL Symposium in Prague took place a week after the successful Engage conference in Brussels. This spring event, which is not as technically focused as the autumn SUTOL conference, has been held regularly for 25 years (first organized by Lotus, IBM and SUTOL in the last few years), which is almost unbelievable.
One era is over (IBM) and another is starting because HCL Digital Solutions has become the main partner of the event. Thanks.
The SUTOL Symposium is specific in that most presentations are exclusively in Czech (except for the opening keynote). However, the event was attended by over 100 people. This is a very beautiful number in such a small region.
For this occasion, everyone received a yellow t-shirt and we could make a unique group photo of the “big yellow family”.

A great pleasure was the opening keynote personally presented by Richard Jefts. Richard is the Vice President and General Manager of HCL’s Collaborative Workflow Platform business. As always, it was an interesting presentation with clear goals that HCL had set and fulfilled at a fast pace. He showed plans for the future.
Also arrived Uffe Sorensen (Global Director of DS Strategy at HCL Software). He was not here for the first time. This time as a member of the HCL team.
As always, we have tried to make presentations balanced for both Administrators, Developers, and Notes users.
A detailed program and presentations can be viewed at www.sutol.cz
The full house stayed to the very end and there were many people who told me during the day and especially at the end that the event was very enjoyable and sees the true effort of HCL and hope for the rebirth of Domino/Notes.
During the day, a lot of us posted information from the conference on Twitter and if I look at the feedback on my Twitter, the event has also received a response from abroad. Thanks for the feedback.
At the end of the Symposium, we immediately held an organizational team meeting and booked a date for the autumn technical conference. I will not publish the term yet, but it is again in November. We believe that we will show you Domino / Notes V11, that everything will be under the wings of HCL and there will be a lot of things that could not be published at this time.
- Thanks again to Richard Jefts and Uffe Sorensen.
- Thank you to all the colleagues who took care of the presentations.
- I would like to thank all colleagues who participated in the preparation of the symposium.
- Especially thanks to everyone who arrived.
Goodbye in November.
