You can create multiple commands in txt file and then launched from a single command in the server console.
Create a text file and name it c:\replica-commands.txt.
Enter the following information into the file and save it: cl copy Server1!!DB1.nsf Server2!!DB1.nsf replica cl copy Server1!!application\DB2.nsf Server2!!application\DB2.nsf replica cl copy Server1!!DB3.nsf Server2!!application\DB3.nsf replica
At the Domino console, type “< c:\replica-commands.txt >” The Domino console will execute thecommands listed in the text file sequentially.
The Notes 10 client allows users to change the color theme. You can also set this up by using the Desktop Settings policy for all or some users.
This You can apply through the new notes.ini setting CUSTOM_THEME_COLOR=<R>,<G>,<B> <R>,<G>,<B> represent the red, green, and blue values to use as the basis for the theme color.
For example: CUSTOM_THEME_COLOR=128,0,128
To push a notes.ini setting to clients, use the Custom Settings tab in a Desktop Settings policy.
To evaluate different colors for the theme and to see color RGB values, from Notes, click File – Preferences – Fonts, Colors, and Themes. With the IBM Theme selected, click Customize Theme. Next to Choose your theme, click the color box.
Sometimes you need to make a copy of the database (not a replica) to another server or an existing server.
Most of the Notes client uses an option in the File – Application – New Copy. You select the location of the DB name and start creating a copy.
However, when creating a copy from a server to a server, all of the data first goes to your local Notes client and then back to the server. The whole operation will take a lot of time, and your computer and local network will be busy.
You can use the command on the Domino console.
First, add a parameter to the server notes.ini: CLUSTER_ADMIN_ON=1 Servers do not need to be a part of a Domino Cluster
You can now use these commands: CL copy server1!!dbA.nsf server2!!dbB.nsf This would create a regular non-replica copy of dbA.nsf on server1 as dbB.nsf on Server2
CL copy dbA.nsf dbB.nsf This would create a regular non-replica copy of dbA.nsf as dbB.nsf on the same local server
CL copy server1!!dbA.nsf server2!!dbB.nsf REPLICA This would create a replica copy of dbA.nsf on server1 as dbB.nsf on Server2
CL copy server1!!dbA.nsf server2!!dbB.nsf TEMPLATE This would create a template copy (only design, no data) of dbA.nsf on server1 as dbB.nsf on Server2
IBM Domino Mobile Apps (IDMA) is access to Notes applications from Apple iPad without the need for re-design Notes applications.
The access to the application is only for registered beta testers for now.
I was lucky because I was included in the IDMA beta program.
I received an email with a link to the application in the “TestFlight app”, which was automatically installed on the iPad. Through iTunes I needed to copy my ID file from the Notes client to the application.
When I open IDMA, I enter the password for my ID file as for the Notes client. Then I can open an application from my server or from local iPad (local) .
Opened apps will show “Recent applications” as Home by default.. The last 12 are displayed.
However, I can open my Workspace. Open / On My Device / Bookmark.nsf
For now, Workspace options are limited, but you can, for example, change the background, arrange icons, and so on.
Most of us appreciate the ability to replicate applications. This means I can run offline applications just like I am used to from your Notes clients.
Just set the application to be offline. You will see the replication setting screen and you can start replicating.
Replication can be found in the replication server as in the Notes client.
The application is in beta. So far with limited functionality. The iPad does not support Java (JavaAgents and xPages that you used in your applications).
IBM Domino Mobile Apps also supports older versions of servers. I tested Domino 9.0.1 FP9.
I think this is a good thing from HCL and I look forward to the next version. A lot of users will certainly welcome this access to Notes applications.
Panagenda MarvelClient Essentials (PMC) is officially a part of IBM Notes 10.0.1 and available on Passport Advantage.
The solution helps Administrators collect information on end user installs of IBM Notes. Example can identify which user is running single vs multi-user clients, who is using ICAA, who is on a Mac, along with which Notes client versions and fix pack users are running.
What you get with PMC:
Improve upgrade path, reduce risk, and help desk tickets
Continuously analyze and visualize IBM Notes client configurations, operating system details, and desktop icon
Improve upgrades by identifying pitfalls upfront, such as insufficient resources or nonstandard installations
Deploy files such as your Notes 10 upgrade package, run programs, and manage the Windows Registry
Let’s look at how easy and fast you can implement MarvelClient Essentials.
From the passport advantage, download the installation file for PMC. Open the DB “MC Essentials Install Wizard” (PMCInstaller.nsf) and start the installation step by step.
And now you can start analyzing your Notes clients. Just open MarvelClient Analyze DB and browse results.
This is a simple description of the Panagenda Marvel Client Essentials installation. Now you can start using PMC yourself.
I dedicate myself primarily to administration, implementation, consultation, training and support of the “Lotus family” for 25 years.
I’ve been through versions Notes 3.0 to today’s V10. I implemented a lot of products but nowadays some are forgotten, for example Lotus Quickr. I have experienced ups and downs. But I am still faithful to the Domino/Notes.
At the end of 2018, when the news came that HCL Technologies buys everything related to Notes, Domino, Connections and more from IBM, I was hesitated for a moment to keep going.
But I have been keeping an eye on the whole year 2018 and I participated in various beta programs (for example Domino 10 or iPad Client for IBM Domino applications), I personally met with people from HCL Technologies at the conference Engage 2018 in Rotterdam and I saw the other activities of HCL Technologies, I find out that new era of „Lotus“ comes. I would still like to be a part of it.
With this situation came my decision, which I have been thinking for years, but I have never realized, I mean – to start my own blog, where I will push ahead to my knowledge, ideas and tips.
That’s why I’m starting with the 2019 upcoming website and I have New Yearˇs resolution that I will actively use the blog
Although my English is not perfect, I will try to publish in English and also in my native Czech language. Please be patient to my speech in English language.
The year 2019 Comes and I expect a lot of news, amazing announcements both from IBM and especially HCL and I believe that will help to perform my blog.
Lots milestones are coming. I have been working with Domino / Notes for 25, Notes will celebrate 30 years anniversary in 2019 and “Domino family” will be completely taken over by HCL company in a half a year.
The new era of Domino / Notes begins! I’m so excited and I’m looking forward and I want to be a part of it!
The following components are no long part of Domino/Notes 10:
IBM HTTP Server. IBM HTTP Server (IHS) has been removed as an install option for Domino on Windows and is no longer supported as a tightly integrated HTTP replacement for Domino HTTP on the same machine.
Older IBM Lotus file types for import and export. Lotus 1-2-3 file type is no longer available, by default, for view import or export.Use the notes.ini setting IncludeOldFileTypes=1 on clients if you want to enable these file type options again.
The IBM iNotes ActiveX installer. The IBM iNotes ActiveX installer is no longer provided with Domino for iNotes. As of Internet Explorer 11, standard users can install ActiveX controls themselves and administrator access is no longer required.
What interesting news can you find in IBM Notes 10 Calendar? Here are few helpful features.
Team calendar. A team calendar enables everyone on a team to see the availability of team members and schedule meetings with team members. To use a team calendar, you create a mail file that is configured as a mail-in database.
Add calendar categories and assign colors at the same time. You can add calendar categories right from the Category colors preference tab.You need template Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf)
Allow attendees to invite others. A meeting chair can allow attendees to invite or propose other people to attend a meeting. You need template Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf)
Delegate calendar but not Contacts. You can delegate your calendar to someone while keeping your Contacts private. You need template Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf)
Apply Sender Colors to meetings. If you use the Sender Colors feature to assign colors to particular people you receive mail from, you can now apply those colors to the meetings chaired by these people, too. You need template Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf)
What interesting news can you find in IBM Notes 10 Mail? I allowed myself to choose a few helpful features.
New By Sender view categorizes messages received by sender. Unlike the Inbox, it contains all messages you’ve received, even ones that you’ve moved to folders. You need the IBM Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).
Schedule when messages are delivered. You can schedule a message to be delivered at a specific date and time. For example, you can send a message on the afternoon but schedule it to be delivered next day. You need the IBM Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf). The administrator must allow this option with a policy.
Keep multiple forwarded messages separate. You can select multiple messages in your Inbox and forward them as .eml attachments. You need the IBM Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).
Second signature for replying and forwarding. You can create a mail signature to use just when you reply to or forward messages. This feature comes in handy if you use a more concise version when you reply to or forward messages. You need the IBM Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).
Larger Junk Mail Senders list. Your Junk Mail Senders List can now contain up to 300 KB of data for addresses, 10 times more than before. You need the IBM Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).S
Send mail errors and warnings. Administrator has the option to put limits on messages that you send, such as limits on the number of attachments or recipients. When you send a message that exceeds more than one of these limits, you’ll see all error or warnings messages at once.
In Notes 10.0.1 returned option “View” when double click attachment.
You can prevent dialog box from appearing by enabling the local notes.ini parameter AttachmentActionDefault=1. With this parameter enabled, double clicking on an attachment icon will simply open the file without a dialog box first displaying. This parameter may also be set via a Desktop policy.
The setting options for this notes.ini parameter include:
